2009 Suzuki Equator Pricing Announced

2009 Suzuki Equator
Although we first drove the 2009 Suzuki Equator earlier this year, the firm hadn't released final pricing figures until now. Having looked them over, they're not too different from its Nissan Frontier cousin.

$17,995 will put you into an Equator, though it'll be a two-wheel-drive, base extended cab model with a six-foot bed and a fice-speed manual transmission. That manages to undercut a similar Frontier XE King Cab 4x2 by $245. We'd attribute that cost savings to Suzuki making some equipment (notably the four-speaker CD stereo system) optional, but the Equator does include certain features - side impact airbags, for instance - that are extra cost on the Nissan.

Adding features to the Equator adds a considerable amount of cost. Customers looking to get into a base two-wheel-drive crew cab model will have to pony up $23,985; those looking to go full-tilt with a loaded RMZ-4 Sport will see a starting price of $31,375.

Base pricing for each trim level is as follows:

Equator Extended Cab, 6' bed, 5MT, 2WD: $17,995
Equator Extended Cab Comfort, 6' bed, 5MT, 2WD: $19,200
Equator Extended Cab Premium, 6' bed, 5 AT, 2WD: $22,450
Equator Extended Cab Sport, 6' bed, 5AT, 2WD: $23,670
Equator Extended Cab Sport, 6' bed, 5AT, 4WD: $26,270

Equator Crew Cab, 5' bed, 5AT, 2WD: $23,985
Equator Crew Cab Sport, 5' bed, 5AT, 2WD: $25,150
Equator Crew Cab Sport, 6' bed, 5AT, 2WD: $25,500
Equator Crew Cab Sport ,6' bed, 5AT, 4WD: $28,095
Equator Crew Cab RMZ-4, 5' bed, 5AT, 4WD: $29,325
Equator Crew Cab RMZ-4 Sport, 5' bed, 5AT, 4WD: $31,375
